Die of Death Settings

Every in-game Settings option — Preferences, PVP, Accessibility, Audio, Keybinds, Profile and Fun — with default values and what each one does.

Die of Death exposes all of its tunable options inside the game's Settings panel. Below is the complete list across every tab (Preferences, PVP, Accessibility, Audio, Keybinds, Profile, Fun), copied exactly as shown in-game (screenshot-verified, August 2026). Default values are listed where the game showed them. This is a reference page — it documents the options, not recommended competitive setups.

FAQ

What are the default Die of Death keybinds?+

The default keybinds are: Main = M1 (left click), Ability 2 = Q, Ability 3 = E, Ability 4 = R, Ability 5 = T, Ability 6 = Y, Sprint = Left Shift, Emote = G, Interact = Space, and Shiftlock = Left Control. You can rebind them in the Settings → Keybinds tab and use the Reset button to restore defaults.

Where do I find the settings in Die of Death?+

Open the main menu and select Settings. It is split into Preferences, PVP, Accessibility, Audio, Keybinds, Profile and Fun — each tab listing its options with toggles, sliders or dropdowns.

What does Kind Mode do in Die of Death?+

Kind Mode (off by default) stops you from being chosen as the Killer and prevents you from gaining Evilness, so you stay on the Civilian side for a more relaxed experience.

How do I turn off blood or screen shake in Die of Death?+

In Settings → Accessibility you can set Blood to Off (or Low), disable Camera Shake, and turn off LMS Effects. There is also an Epilepsy Mode that reduces flashing effects — the game warns that playing with such a condition is not recommended.

Is this the official Die of Death settings page?+

No. This is an independent fan reference that copies the in-game Settings panel verbatim. It is not affiliated with the developers.

Settings and troubleshooting

Open the exact symptom to follow ordered checks without treating a saved value as proof that a feature works.

Settings

  • Settings not saving

If several settings reset at once, first distinguish a server-session reset from one option rejecting an invalid value.

PVP

  • Hitsound ID not saving

A numeric Hitsound ID can still reset if the field rejects it or the session does not persist the change.

  • Show Hitboxes

Show Hitboxes draws attack collision areas as a visual aid.

  • Show HurtBoxes

Show HurtBoxes visualizes the character area that can receive a hit.

  • Hitbox Linger

Hitbox Linger controls how long a displayed hitbox remains visible after an attack.

  • Show Hitmarkers

Show Hitmarkers displays confirmation when your attack registers a hit.

  • Accumulated Hitmarkers

Accumulated Hitmarkers stacks confirmations instead of replacing the previous marker.

  • Enable the crosshair

Turn Crosshair on to display the in-game aiming reticle.

  • Crosshair Image

Crosshair Image selects the displayed reticle asset while Crosshair controls whether it is visible.

PVP / Audio

  • Hitsound not playing

Check the Hitsounds toggle, SFX volume and asset accessibility separately; they are three different failure points.

Keybinds

  • Change keybinds

Open Keybinds, select one action and press the replacement key without reusing a key needed elsewhere.

  • Shiftlock not working

Die of Death lists Shiftlock as Left Control; Roblox camera settings may also affect whether it changes the view.

Preferences / Keybinds

  • Sprint Toggle not working

Sprint depends on both Sprint Toggle behavior and the Sprint keybind, so check the toggle and Left Shift binding together.

Accessibility

  • Turn off Camera Shake

Disable Camera Shake in Accessibility to reduce motion from attacks and effects.

  • Reduce lag with Low Detail Mode

Low Detail Mode simplifies game visuals and is the first in-game option to try for rendering-related slowdown.

  • Turn off blood

Set Blood to Off, or Low if you only want reduced intensity.

  • Epilepsy Mode

Epilepsy Mode reduces flashing effects, but the game itself warns that playing with such a condition is not recommended.

  • Disable Map Effects

Turn Map Effects off to remove supported weather rendering such as rain or snow.

  • Disable LMS Effects

Turn LMS Effects off to reduce special Last Man Standing visuals.

Preferences

  • Field of View

Field of View changes how much of the scene is visible around the camera.

  • Camera Point

Camera Point chooses whether the camera tracks the Torso or Head.

  • AFK Mode

AFK Mode lets you stay idle without being pulled into a round.

  • Kind Mode

Kind Mode stops you from being selected as Killer and prevents Evilness gain.
