FAQ

What is Die of Death?+

Die of Death is a free-to-play asymmetrical horror game on Roblox where 1 Killer hunts up to 8 Civilians across creepy maps. It plays like a hide-and-seek cat-and-mouse experience with ability-based combat.

What characters can you play in Die of Death?+

There are five playable Killers — Pursuer, Badware, Artful, Harken, and Killdroid. The Civilian side has no named characters: each round you're dealt random ability cards (Adrenaline, Banana Peel, Block, BonusPad, Bugle, Caretaker, Cloak, Dash, Flashlight, Hotdog, Pie, Punch, Reroll, Revolver, Taunt) and pick one card of two abilities.

Are there redeem codes in Die of Death?+

No. As of August 2026, Die of Death has no redeem code system. Free customization comes from in-game skins, Hitsound IDs, and Taunts — not typed codes. See our codes page for details.

Is Die of Death free to play?+

Yes. Die of Death is free to play on Roblox. Cosmetics like VIP skins are optional and come from the in-game Premium Shop (the game has no Game Passes).

Which Pursuer is best for beginners?+

Pursuer is the most beginner-friendly killer. Its mobility, Stalk (invisibility + tracking), and burst (Swing + Cleave) work in nearly every matchup while still offering room to master.

How do I get better as a Civilian?+

Learn to break line of sight and loop the Killer around map cover. Read your 3 ability cards each round and pick the one that fits the situation — Sentinel abilities like Punch and Taunt let you fight back, while Survivalist abilities like Cloak and Dash are for escapes. Coordinate heals with Support players and never clump up.

Is Die of Death inspired by Forsaken?+

No. Die of Death is its own Roblox asymmetrical horror game with original characters and mechanics. It draws from the same genre inspiration as many asymmetric hunt games (a Killer vs. Civilians), but it is not a Forsaken clone — the kits, maps, and art style are original to Die of Death.

Why can't I play Die of Death?+

Most issues come down to platform or account limits: you must be on Roblox (desktop, mobile, tablet, or Xbox), your account must meet the game's age rating, and the servers must be online. If the game won't load, check Roblox server status, confirm your account age setting allows 13+/16+ experiences, and try a different device or the Roblox app instead of a browser.

Why is Die of Death 16+?+

Die of Death is rated 13+ / 16+ (depending on region) because of horror themes — scary visuals, chase tension, and a Killer-hunts-Civilians premise. Roblox applies the age recommendation automatically based on the game's content descriptors. Players under the rating can be restricted by Roblox's parental/account settings.

Can you play Die of Death on console?+

Yes — Die of Death runs on Roblox, and Roblox is available on Xbox consoles, so you can play it on Xbox through the Roblox app. Other consoles (PlayStation, Nintendo Switch) do not have an official Roblox app yet, so the game is not playable there. Desktop and mobile remain the most common platforms.

Can you play Die of Death in VR?+

No. Die of Death is not built for VR and Roblox does not support VR headsets for this title. You play it with a keyboard/mouse on desktop, touch controls on mobile, or a controller on Xbox.

Who made Die of Death (Roblox)?+

Die of Death is a Roblox game developed by its own studio team. For the latest credits, patch notes, and official announcements, check the game's Roblox page and the developer's community channels. This site (dieofdeathguides.com) is an independent fan guide and is not affiliated with the developers.

Is Harken good on every map in Die of Death?+

No. The community widely agrees Harken's strength depends on the map, mode, and platform. Players call Baseplate (old and new) one of her strongest maps because of Agitation's low cooldown, while New Tundra Trench and New Grandma's Backyard are often named as her weakest. Some say she is hard on mobile. These are player observations, not official tier data — see the Harken guide for the full map notes.

Did Die of Death have a Forsaken collaboration?+

Yes — the community records that Die of Death previously included crossover content connected to Forsaken, including a 'glasshouses' area with a glowing floating cube players could reach using Killdroid's flight. This was removed in a later update and is no longer in the game. It is separate from the 'inspired by Forsaken' question: there was an actual collaboration in the game's history, not just genre similarity.

Why does the killer sometimes not hit me even when I'm right there?+

This is the hitbox/hurtbox topic players argue about most. The main causes: (1) the hurtbox you see (when enabled) and the actual hit detection can look misaligned; (2) using ShiftLock shifts your hurtbox slightly when strafing, which can make you feel 'inside' the killer while the server registers you as just outside; (3) network latency — what you see on your screen lags behind the server's real positions, so a hit that looked landed on your client was a miss on the server. Players also report that some kits (e.g. Caretaker) had a period where their hitbox failed entirely. The devs have tweaked hitbox behavior across updates; some players say the pre-'Fashionably Late' version felt more accurate. Treat hitbox complaints as a mix of real bugs and netcode, not just skill. For the full breakdown, see the Hitboxes & Hurtboxes page.
