Die of Death Maps Guide
Every map, its layout, and Killer-specific tips for playing it.
Map knowledge is one of the highest-impact skills in Die of Death. Knowing sightlines, loop spots, and how each Killer's kit fits the layout turns coin-flip chases into wins. Below are the confirmed maps and how to play them.
Grandma's Backyard (Remaster)
Favors: Pursuer, ArtfulMulti-level map with height differences and a central house that provides cover. Use the upstairs windows and backyard corners to break line of sight. Good all-rounder map for every Killer.
Temple
Favors: Killdroid, HarkenOpen central area with pillars for cover. Special mechanic: the Drakoboulder wakes up and rolls, destroying part of the map and opening new routes — anything in its path is instantly killed. Learn the safe pockets it creates.
Baseplate
Favors: Pursuer, BadwareMinimalist map with almost no cover — pure positioning and stamina management. Favors mobile Killers and Civilians who can loop. No hiding spots, so ability usage timing is everything.
H.Q
Favors: Artful, BadwareComplex indoor layout with many rooms and corridors, ideal for stealth. Killdroid is restricted here. Use doorways and room corners to juke the Killer.
Tundra Trench
Favors: Harken, KilldroidSnowy trench terrain with sightline breaks from the trench walls. Pick high-contrast Civilian shirts here — dark maps make you easier to spot.
Augury Exhibition
Favors: Pursuer, ArtfulAdded in the Fashionably Late (July 2026) update. Gallery-style layout with open halls and exhibit cover. Still being mastered by the community — experiment with vertical loops.
Teapot Paradise
Favors: Pursuer, ArtfulCompact map with a tight open center and short sightlines that funnel the final chase into a readable space — a fan-favorite spot for LMS clips. Note: a void-teleport glitch was reported after the Aug 22, 2026 update, so be cautious near the out-of-bounds edges.
WindThrone
Favors: N/A (not in public rotation)A dev-only / admin-only cryptic map — normal public lobbies can't roll it; it only appears when a developer or contributor forces it as the next map. Per the official wiki it's a maze-like layout of green planks and stairs with reflective pillars and a giant Wind Element entity that slowly chases the nearest players and deals 25% of max HP. In the map select it shows as "???" with "No quote available" until you've seen it.
Happy Home
Favors: N/A (placeholder / not playable)A cryptic placeholder map flagged Unconfirmed / NoDatamine on the official wiki. It briefly appeared once on the "Next Location" board due to a bug and shows in private servers as a fallback when no next map is detected. It's likely a reference to Roblox's 2011 starter place and has no confirmed playable layout — in the map select it shows as "???" with "No quote available."
General map tips
- • Learn two reliable loops per map and never run the same one twice in a row.
- • As a Killer, patrol high-traffic objective areas rather than chasing endlessly.
- • Artful should use walls and music boxes to cut off sightlines, not just chase.
- • Use verticality — many maps have a second floor Killers forget to check.

FAQ
What maps are in Die of Death?+
Confirmed playable maps include Grandma's Backyard (remaster), Temple, Baseplate, H.Q, Tundra Trench, Augury Exhibition (added in the July 2026 Fashionably Late update), and Teapot Paradise. Two more — WindThrone (dev-only) and Happy Home (a cryptic placeholder flagged Unconfirmed on the official wiki) — show as "???" with "No quote available" in the map select until you've encountered them. Glasshouses was removed in the Fashionably Late update.
Why do some maps show as "???" with "No quote available"?+
Those are WindThrone and Happy Home. WindThrone is a dev-only / admin-only map that only appears when a developer or contributor forces it as the next map. Happy Home is a cryptic placeholder that briefly showed on the Next Location board due to a bug and is flagged Unconfirmed / NoDatamine on the official wiki — it likely has no real playable layout. Both display as "???" in the normal map select.
Which Killer is best on each map?+
Pursuer and Artful favor multi-level maps like Grandma's Backyard and Augury Exhibition. Killdroid and Harken do well on Temple and Tundra Trench. Baseplate rewards mobile Killers like Pursuer and Badware. H.Q restricts Killdroid and suits stealthy play.
How do I learn map callouts in Die of Death?+
Focus on two reliable loop spots per map, memorize sightlines, and use vertical space. Our per-map breakdown above covers layout strengths and the Killers that favor each one.
Is it "H.Q" or "The HQ"?+
In the in-game map select the label reads "H.Q" (with periods). Community wikis often write it as "The HQ." It's the same map — the indoor office layout where Killdroid is restricted and stealthy Killers like Artful and Badware shine.
