Artful Survivor Guide
Artful is the trickster Survivor — master decoys, flashbangs, and smoke to outplay every Pursuer.
Overview
Artful is the most agile Survivor in Die of Death. With a kit built around misdirection and escape, Artful excels at juking Pursuers, creating chaos, and slipping away when cornered. If you like outsmarting the killer rather than outrunning them, Artful is your pick.
Items & Abilities
Decoy
Deploy a holographic copy of yourself that runs in a straight line. Pursuers will waste time chasing the decoy while you escape in the opposite direction. Place it behind cover for maximum confusion.
Flashbang
Throw a flashbang that blinds the Pursuer for 2.5 seconds. Use it when the Pursuer is about to land a hit, or to cover your teammate's escape. The blind effect also cancels active Sense scans.
Smoke Bomb
Create a smoke cloud that blocks line of sight for 5 seconds. Pursuers cannot Sense through smoke. Drop it at choke points or objective areas to create safe zones for your team.
Hiding Spots
- • Behind double doors — Pursuers rarely check the swing side
- • Under staircases — dark corners break line of sight
- • Inside locker clusters — open one, hide in another
- • Next to objectives — counter-intuitive but Pursuers expect you to run away
Escape Tactics
- Decoy + reverse. Drop Decoy running forward, immediately turn and run back past the Pursuer.
- Flashbang at corners. Round a corner, turn and flash — Pursuer runs into it blind.
- Smoke on objectives. Pop smoke before interacting — Pursuer can't see which Survivor is on it.
- Chain your cooldowns. Never use all 3 items at once. Space them 5+ seconds apart.
