Die of Death Lore

The world of Robloxia, every Killer's confirmed backstory, and the major story events — compiled from the in-game Library and community wiki (CC BY-SA).

Die of Death tells its story through the in-game Library tab and a few environmental details. Below is the confirmed lore as of the Fashionably Late update (July 2026), pulled from the in-game Library and the community Die of Death Wiki (CC BY-SA 4.0). This is a fan reference, not official — where the wiki marks a section as a stub or an older version, that is noted.

The World: Robloxia, the Government & the Bunker

Die of Death takes place in Robloxia, ruled by a Government led by President Sulfur. To protect civilians, the Government built an underground Bunker with a computer room, a theater, a garden, and a central portal. That portal has been broken for about two weeks, which is why agents sent outside to fetch survivors have been dying.

Civilians are ordinary people who fight back with ability cards based on jobs or hobbies (boxing, hotdog, banana peel, and so on), and some can trigger Synergies that strengthen a build. The Killers — Pursuer, Badware, Artful, Harken and Killdroid, plus the hidden/admin-only Paranoy — each kill for different reasons.

The Killers' Backstories

Pursuer

A predatory beast of unknown origin that takes only a few bites of meat and abandons the rest. Because it is formless and efficient, it became the top predator. The Government knows where it came from but keeps that classified; they once sent agents to assassinate it while it slept, and it wiped them out. It carries a gold harmonica engraved "H.A." — possibly belonging to detective Henry Anderson.

Badware

An entity-virus from the Toolbox that parasitizes metal bodies. It caused a mass breakout at T.A.S.F. and spreads by infecting machines — it does not target civilians on purpose, but kills anything in its way. Every Badware skin except Omegaware, Runicware and Ms.Input is an extension of this one virus (Goodware, Spyware, Loveware, and more).

Artful

Real name Jean "Degaré" Fromage, a French magician from a building-family who learned real magic after an accident and became famous. During one bad show, the crowd pelted him with bananas; he snapped, killed the audience in a rage, and has been a wanted man on the run ever since. The Builder skin shows him during his construction-worker period.

Harken

A construct from the dimension FableHaven, made of sand and organic material. Her parents died and a friend sacrificed itself to save her. When a Government scientist opened a Portal to FableHaven, she crossed over and killed the scientist, then stayed — now she kills noisy Civilians just to get some quiet. She communicates in clicks and writes in near-English.

Killdroid

A Government prototype robot bodyguard. During testing it malfunctioned, went rogue, and escaped into the outside world, so mass production was paused. In an older version of the lore it was simply the most expensive robot, ordered to "kill all criminals" and, not understanding the definition, killed anyone it saw.

Paranoy

Not a physical being — a parasite that lives in the minds of unstable people and "mercy kills" them citing "tomorrow." In a banned experiment, a subject stared at a clock, slowly went mad, and died showing the word "Tomorrow." One victim was detective Henry Anderson, tortured to death with no external injuries.

Named NPCs & Canon Skins

  • Henry Anderson — a detective who lost his daughter and partner, then became Paranoy's victim. His gold harmonica (initials "H.A.") is suspected to be the one Pursuer carries.
  • M.P. / Musicbox Prototype — a lobby storage-area NPC, the broken prototype of DanBox. Feed it 5 points for random lines that hint at Toolbox secrets.
  • Devesto — an Artful skin treated as its own canon character (one of the first to find the F3X in some tellings). Listed among standalone canon skin-characters alongside Clawsguy, MISO, MeQuot and Evil Guy.
  • President Sulfur — the Government leader; older lore paints the Government as corrupt and neglectful, letting the Killers run wild.

Major Lore Events

  1. The Toolbox is created — it can make life and anything else; Badware emerges from it.
  2. The T.A.S.F. breakout — Badware seizes the machines and escapes.
  3. The Killdroid rampage — the test site is wrecked and it flees outward.
  4. The Portal opens — a Government scientist connects to FableHaven; Harken crosses over and kills him.
  5. The Artful massacre — a failed show, bananas thrown, the audience killed, Artful on the run.
  6. The Paranoy experiment — the clock-staring test ends in death and is banned.
  7. Henry Anderson's death — Paranoy tortures him mentally; the autopsy shows no wounds, only a clock doodle.
  8. The Bunker portal breaks — down for two weeks, expeditions outside fail.
